Take Up The Sword: Shining Light in Dark Places

I remembered when Ps Daniel was addressing some hard issues in camp, he said it's time for the church to shine light on the dark areas (secret issues) to bring them out into the open. He gave the illustration of cockroaches thriving in the darkness in the absence of light.

My house has many cockroaches, for some reason (blame the sewage system). I could never kill them all. Sometime back, I realised I began to feel numbed by their presence. I sometimes "pretended" they weren't there even though I could smell them.

Until one day I was too angry to leave things as it was. I declared war on those nasty creatures of darkness. I terminated every one of them mercilessly. But make no mistake, they still come back every now and then. I've to accept that this war will go on until I leave the house one day.

In the same way, sooner or later, every master of the house must take drastic measure to eliminate every enemy of darkness. How long will the master live with them before the whole house stinks? How much stink can the occupants withstand before leaving? How long until too long? Only he can answer that.

"Bah! Can't go out till the light's out"

On the final day, everything will be brought out to the open. There'll be no more shadow to hide under.

"He will baptize you.....with fire. His winnowing fork is in his hands, and he will clear his threshing floor and gather his wheat into barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire" Matthew 3:11, 12.

On that final day, will you be glad? Or will you be afraid?
